Demerara Records - " Phil Maguire's songs were original and impressive as was his guitar and bouzouki playing but, wow, his voice was shuddering and earth shattering at times. What a talent he is.”
Home Farm Fest - “Phil’s unique voice imbues his story-led songs with a wistful, heart-rending tint. An absolutely stunning act!”
The Barn Studio - "I truly believe Phil is destined to become one of the kings of the folk scene. His songs have an extraordinary depth and timelessness."

A bit about me
I have always been intrigued by storytelling and the old folk songs of times gone by. With these in mind, I have worked to create my own voice and stories out of the history of these tunes. I'm regularly showcasing new songs across the UK. I hope to bring along a mixture of intimate folk dreams, foot-stompers and soaring ballads.
My debut album ‘Valley Of My Dreams’ was released in 2023. My second album ‘So Much Joy’ is out on 29th Januray 2027.
I perform solo and with my band ‘Phil Maguire and the Balladeers’.
I am also a member the band ‘McGovern and his Maiden Names’ and I’m previously a founding member of ‘Dead Pages’.
I co-run the New Harvest Folk Club.
